6/16*: approx. 0.11" rain fell within 12 hours of sampling; 6/23*: approx. 0.24" rain fell within 12 hours of sampling;*6/30: approx. 0.56" rain within 48 hours of sampling; *7/14: approx. 2.54" rain fell within 48 hours of sampling; *8/4: approx. 0.5" rain within 6 hours of sampling; *8/18: approx. 4.5" of rain within 24 hours of sampling.

 On 8/1 there was a spill of 14,850 gallons of sewage due to a leak in a sewer line in the 700 block of Dividing Creek Road. Although only a portion of this spill actually entered Dividing Creek, the headwaters would have received some of the spilled sewage. 

Values greater than 104 are shown in red as they are considered unsafe for swimming.

Water samples are collected and analyzed by Sally Hornor and her students at Anne Arundel Community College at the request of the Mill Creek Scientific Review Committee to allow continued monitoring of bacterial trends in Mill and Dividing Creeks. This project is funded by Anne Arundel County Dept. of Public Works.

 

Click here for a map of the stations. M1 and D1 are the furthest upstream tidal stations in Mill and Dividing Creeks while M3 and D3 are the furthest downstream stations. M7 is just upstream of the Mill Creek pumping station while M6 is just downstream.
